JD and I have always been sticklers for manners with the kids, and generally, they are pretty good… with other people. That’s not to say they don’t need reminders with other people, but the constantly need reminders in our house. So, the most used phrase is just a word in our house at the moment… pardon?
All day long you can hear me saying pardon. Why? When the kids, Martin, sort of, included, ask for anything and forget their manners, I respond with pardon, giving them the chance to politely ask for whatever they are looking for. Martin’s reminder is currently to ask him to say, or sign, please.
It works fairly well, but I still say pardon a lot!
What do you use all the time right now?
