I’m now (almost) 30 weeks pregnant with baby 4. Pregnancies 3 and 4 have had more aches and pains than the first two. Generally, I put that to the other children, not my aging body – I mean come on, I’m not 30, yet!
I’m finding that my back is quite sore these days if I’ve had a busy day (read: everyday). Part of this is how baby is lying, and part of it is that baby still has too much space to move around and hasn’t settled in one spot yet. The other part of it is that I have 3 children who like to be picked up, carried, snuggled, and so on. Regardless, this is my life. So, I’ve been trying to practice more yoga. Once babe settles, I should be able to get back into weights and cardio without much issue, just need to take the time to get rid of the aches and pains first.
I’ve written about Beachbody On Demand before, and honestly, I love it. It’s my gym at home (I can’t afford a gym membership & babysitting to go to the gym with the kids, plus having to tote all 3 soon to be 4 anywhere to work out sounds like a reason not to go). What’s great is they have a pre & post-natal section of workouts. It’s by no means robust, but it’s there and I click on my Beachbody bookmark almost daily.
Right now I’m enjoying the third trimester yoga, gives me a good, easy feeling, stretch. I’m able to intensify it a bit (I don’t do everything on the chair), but elongating my spine and being focused on holding my body correctly helps set me up for a pretty good day.
Regardless, I’ve got to get through the next 10 weeks, so yoga, rest, whatever I need to do is what I’ll do!
